THURSDAY 30

11.00am COFFEE at SLUG & LETTUCE, Richmond, TW9 1TJ

 

Join us at this very pleasant pub on Richmond's riverside.

 

PARKING  In NCP car park behind station.

STATION   RICHMOND. 

It's in Water Lane by the river.

Turn left out of station into the Quadrant then along George St to the end. Cross over and walk down Water Lane to the river. The pub is at the bottom on the left

SUNDAY 2 June

 12.30pm LUNCH at the GEORGE IV, Chiswick High Rd, W4

 

This pub has been revamped. It is  no longer dark inside and it has a much better layout. I will try to reserve some tables at the back on the ground floor but they may put us upstairs.

It is at 185 Chiswick High Rd, opposite Windmill Road, almost opposite M & S.

TUBE:    Turnham Green

Turn left out of the station. Walk down to the traffic lights, turn right & you will see it on your left

This cafe is near the main entrance to the grounds in Burlington Lane.

 

BUSES  190 stops in Burlington Lane

           E3  Get off at junction of Edensor Road and Staveley Rd(Chiswick House stop). Walk along Burlington Lane to the main gate of Chiswick House.

The pub is at 62 St Mary's Rd opposite St Mary’s Church.

From SOUTH EALING tube turn left. It is just past the bend on the left.

Later on we could go for a walk along the river - various options.

Carluccio's is now newly refurbished and looks very nice.

 

 It is at 31-35 Kew Road, Richmond.  

Turn right out of RICHMOND station, cross the road and you will soon see Carluccio's.

 12.30pm  Lunch/Drinks at the BOTANIST, Kew Green TW9 3AA

I'll book a table inside but will be in the garden if it's fine.

The pub is at the southern end of Kew Green, at the junction of Kew Road and Mortlake Road.

BUSES       65 and 391. Get off at Mortlake Road stop.

TUESDAY 18

 11.00am  COFFEE at STARBUCKS, White City Place, W12 7TU

 

 

This café is in White City Place, the new development on the site of the old Greyhound Stadium. Nearby is a memorial to the founding of the Olympic Committee in 1905 and several restaurants. I may be inside or outside depending on the weather.

STATION   WHITE CITY. Come out of the station, cross on the zebra crossing and turn right. At the first junction (South Africa Road) you will see a large office development in front of you. Follow the main path keeping the grass on your right. Eventually you will see Starbucks on your left. 4 mins walk.     

BUSES       72, 95, 220, 272, 283 Get off at Westway or South Africa Rd;

                228 get off at White City station

THURSDAY 20

 11.00am  COFFEE at SYON PARK GARDEN CENTRE, TW8 8JG

 

If the weather is suitable I'll be at an outside table. Lunches available -

 then possibly a WALK ROUND THE GARDENS

(£6.50 concessions). House is £5 extra.

Syon Park entrance is in London Road, Isleworth at the end of Brentford High Street

BUSES 235, 237, 267, E8 stop in London Road at Brent Lea.

Use the pedestrian entrance (marked with a blue sign) which goes past

the Hilton hotel to the garden centre. Go into shop and turn left for café.

SUNDAY 23

Step free access but the slope is steep

 

The pub has a carvery rather than a general menu.

 

The Rose of York is in Petersham Rd, close to Nightingale Lane.

BUS: 65 from Ealing, Brentford, Richmond Station or Kingston. Get off at Nightingale Lane.

PARKING: The pub has its own car parks outside & underground

 11.00am  COFFEE MORNING at CAFFE NERO, Ealing Bdy W5 2NP

There is a lift to all floors - staff will carry your tray if necessary.

There is a code for the toilet which you ask for at the counter.

 

Meet upstairs in this large café which is next to Sainsbury's Local. Afterwards we will go to lunch at one of the many pubs or restaurants nearby.

 

Caffe Nero is by the bus stop at 34 The Broadway.

From EALING BROADWAY station turn left down to the traffic lights. Turn right and it's the second shop on your right

BUSES  207, 427, 483, 607, E11 stop outside;

          Lots of others stop in Haven Green. Walk to station & follow directions as above.

Cost £6.00

Please join me for a trip on the "Merrie Thames" to Teddington Lock and back. About 50 minutes.

On return we can have lunch/drinks in Richmond. Look forward to seeing you

It is a while since we have been to this popular Richmond Restaurant.If we order before 7.00 pm we can order from  the Prix Fixe Menu

Come and have coffee at my home. If you can, bring a few books you have already read and swap them for something different. Any left  over will go to the Oxfam book shop. Only books in good condition please!

Join me for a relaxing end of week drink overlooking the river close to Richmond Bridge. If anybody wants to make an evening of it, there’s food at the pub.
